Subj:   Re: UserID Hierachy and Roles

From:   Harold D Kleven

When we first got involved, we created "roles/profiles" as simple groups of users. When we got v2r5 it was simple to convert the users in one group to an equivilent role/profile. We still use the simple groups as a quick visual aid in seeing who's in a role/profile without having to use the role/profile management tool (we simply implemented roles/profiles one-to-one with the groups we had created) but there is really no reason to do so any more and we'll probably end up "GIVEing" all of our users to a group called USERGROUP (as opposed to DEVELPERGROUP or PROCESSESGROUP of userids. And with Sarbanes-Oxley, our security group is going balistic and our approach might seem too simplistic for them!
