You are right a MLOAD is faster on a MULTISET table since no duplicate check is done. However, you need to have confidence in your data that there are no duplicate rows before you insert. That can be a daunting task. This can also be prevented with a UPI, if you can

The rule I follow is :

If you have a UPI, consider MULTISET

If you have a NUPI, go with SET.
