Hi,

Traditionally, most sites I have worked at have a hierarchy of User ID's which was primarily there to ease the maintenance of access rights, ie grouping users together.

However, we have recently upgraded to version 5 and are looking to utilise roles (and profiles).

We are struggling to see the benefit of retaining the old User Hierarchy, and feel that it would be better to have all user id's under one 'owning' ID, with ID's allocated to roles. In effect the roles replacing the old user groups.

We would be interested in knowing what other sites have chosen to do with their old user hierarchy when they have implemented roles (and profiles).
