Subj:   Reducing the number of amps or nodes in a configuration

A hypothetical question on reducing the number of amps or nodes in a configuration.

I have a 4 node system with 16 amps and I need to make it a 2 node system with (8 amps or 10 amps). How do I go about it?

One idea which occurs to me is if the 2 nodes (from a 4 node system) are in separate cliques then making 2 nodes down will make the AMPS on the down nodes migrate to the other 2 nodes. Then we run config-reconfig on the up-nodes ( with logons disabled) to reduce the number of AMPS, the 2 nodes should come up with all AMPS up in the new configuration.

Do the forum members fell that this works? . Will the system come up with one node in a clique? There is another thought. But whether TD comes with 1 node in each clique will depend on "Min nodes per clique" value in the control gdo.

Has anybody attempted something like this? Would be grateful if the experience can be shared with the forum members.

Regards
