Subj:   Re: AutoCommit in SQL Assistant?

From:   Victor Sokovin

Mike,

As far as I am aware there is still no way to switch off the AutoCommit feature of the Teradata ODBC driver when using ANSI mode.

I opened the following RFC many years ago: DR 50691 Add ability for user to set ManualCommit mode through Options

I think the request was probably deffered due to lack of interest. If you need this feature I would suggest that you request NCR re-open this RFC.

That's not urgent at all for me, I can always switch to BTEQ in those rare cases when I have to work with the ANSI mode. When I encountered the AutoCommit issue earlier today I did some research in the archives and some threads would appear to suggest that manual commit and rollback should be possible via ODBC and Queryman, for example this thread:

So I was just thinking that my particular combination of the driver and Assistant would have a problem but if it is a general issue I'll just have to use BTEQ.

Thank you for the explanation!

Regards,

Victor
