This problem came up a long time ago and had something to do with the ODBC driver version. I don't remember the details, but the solution was to upgrade the driver.

I don't remember what level was required but it may be in one of the higher levels (such as 3.0.1.n or 3.1.0.n or 3.2.0.n) that you may be able to use with your version of NT. (There are a lot of higher levels that are below 3.3.)
