Subj:   Re: Is there an equivalent of DUAL in Teradata

From:   Santra, Partho

Hi Fred,

We have done a work-around for this 'DUAL'. We created a DUMMY table with one row and inserted a value

     CREATE MULTISET TABLE DUMMY ,NO FALLBACK ,
          NO BEFORE JOURNAL,
          NO AFTER JOURNAL
          (
           DUMMY VARCHAR(1) CHARACTER SET LATIN NOT CASESPECIFIC)
     PRIMARY INDEX ( DUMMY );

This should solve your puropse.

Secondly just dont mention any FROM clause.

Thanks
