Thanks for all your response on this query. One strange thing I observed - the table was accessible after 4 hours. I didn't do any activity on that table & it was strange that after 4 hours I was able to do all operations on that table.

To tell you, there wasn't any back ground process going on that table. I also never used arcmain utility or performed MLoad operation on that table. Can anybody tell me how this is possible?
