Subj:   Connecting to the Teradata and Port 1025

From:   Siddhartha Raghuraj Hattangadi

Hi,

We have a client teradata system for which we asked access. We were sent multiple ips (from client manager) for same server which were consecutive e.g

     TDATASERV

     10.10.25.100
     10.10.25.101
     10.10.25.102
     10.10.25.103

When we tried to connect to these ips on port 1025 only one of the systems would let us connect. Rest were inaccesible. Do the other ips represent other nodes in the system? In a MPP system I believe if every node has unique ip , can everyone of them be exposed to users for connecting? Alternatively can anybody put light whether in a multinode system PE's are also distributed across nodes , how is network communication handled?

Thanks,

Sid
