Sounds like you have answered your own question in that if the sessions are in a "responding state", then the only thing that is happening is
that the answer set is being spooled back to where ever the request came from. Unless the transactions are returning much larger amounts of data
than you have been used to then I would first suspect something in the network connectivity has changed....In short, while there could be other
possibilities, I think your initial instincts of where to start looking are correct in my view.....
