I was told by our DBA's that some utilities (SQL Server DTS in our case) will force Teradata to log every single row you insert from SQL Server
to Teradata. How slow? You can almost count records in your head faster than they insert to Teradata. Not to mention the I/O's slow every thing
else that is running to crawl. DTS is faster from Teradata to SQL Server but nothing like the performance the Ole Load utility can deliver on
inserts to Teradata. What we can't figure out is why the Ole FastLoad utility can't copy from Teradata as fast as it can insert to Teradata.
