Your problem with running this in SQL Assistant/Queryman is that you are allowing the ODBC driver to parse your query. (I realize that theoretically that should not be a bad thing - apart from performance - but I always suggest you switch off parsing unless you need it.)

To prevent this error clear the last checkbox on the Query tab of the options screen. (Having cleared it you will not be able to use ODBC SQL Extensions [you probably don't anyway] or create stored procedures. [You would have to check the box again if you need to create a stored procedure])
