We have V2R5

This is called an "Implied CAST" and it is a Teradata Extension.

I ran this in Queryman:

 select  current_timestamp (date)
,  current_timestamp   ;

with this results:

 Current TimeStamp(6) Current TimeStamp(6)
 2004-03-26           2004-03-26 13:17:11.470000+00:00
