An important point (which Eric Paddock reminded me of when he was at our site recently), spool is also only allocated to a query in full cylinders, so you can have all the "spool reserve" you want, and if it's not in full cylinders, the box will have to do a minicylpack to get it. You won't get "out of spool" but it won't be nice!
