Subj:   Re: Script UNIX to disable users logons and kill active sessions

From:   Chambaz Hakim

Hello Christopher,

Sorry, I 've just got the opportunity today to examine your program. Thank you very much. My understanding is there are two parts in the script :

1- select the active sessions from the network or mainframe, or both via SQL Macro and send them to an outputs file

2- use the same file as an input to xgtwglobal tool to kill these sessions and as well to DISABLE LOGONS.

We have worked on the first part and we used the view DBC.LOGONOFF to retrieve the active sessions from Mainframe and Network. As an example of outputs file, we get :

SEL HOST 1
     KILL SESSION 17737
     KILL SESSION 17755
     KILL SESSION 17774
     KILL SESSION 17783

Where "HOST 1" indicates session from Network (HOST 321 for Mainframe), may be as we are running V2R5..

The second part should use this same file as inputs to "xgtwglobal" tool which will kill these sessions. However, I don't believe the first line of this file "SEL HOST 1" will be accepted as an input, according to XGTWGLOBAL options. What do you think about this ?

I believe in case where this script will run succesfully, we have to execute an other script after the end of the TERADATA Backups to "ENABLE LOGONS ".

Once again, thank you for all

Kind regards,

Hakim
