Subj:   Re: UNIX Processes

From:   Ballinger, Carrie

To answer to bottom part of the original question:

Does each awt equal a process? What are awtmain processes? Is the '# of Procs' form schmon an accurate reflection of the UNIX processes being consumed by queries or is this a Teradata task identifier?

You are correct, the awtmain processes are the AMP worker task processes. The "# of procs" column in schmon monitor output includes different types of processes active on the node: For example, it includes AMP workers tasks, parsing engine tasks, and UNIX daemons, all combined.

Thanks, -Carrie
