Subj:   Re: MLOAD - Multiple record types

From:   Edelsberg, Philip L

You should be able to set up multiple APPLY statements based on your transaction code:

Apply InsertT1 where TransCode = 'H'
Apply InsertT2 where TransCode = 'D'

See manual B035-2409-121A, Teradata Multiload Reference, Appendix D, page D-2.

To load the same file to a single table you would have to set up the LAYOUT so that the records are redefined with different field names. You'd have to do an Insert for the Header then an Update for the other records. You have to do one action at a time per input record. You can't save all the detail for one header unless you set up an inmod.

Thanks,
