Rachana, you might want to check if any ARC utility lock is on the table. Another thing which might be blocking your DROP ddl would a previous rollback operation. If that is the case Create a new table procede with your work when the old one gets released drop that and rename the new table...If you are on V2r5 I guess there are ways to rollback a rolling-back statement.
