Subj:   Long running archive job

From:   Harizanov, Ivan A

Dear All,

Recently we had a problem which I couldn't explained to the management.

In our environment we had a Production job which is using "ARCMAIN" utility to backup a table of 10gb. Elapsed time for this job is approximately 35min. On the day of the problem the same job/JCL took 23hours and we had to cancel the backup.

During the archiving process(23h) there was not any activity(Mload etc) on that table.

Question.
Are there any kind of utilities in TD Manager or some DBC tables to show what was holding the table or any meaning full explanation?

I did look into : DBC.AccessLog/DBC.Events/DBC.Logonoff

We are running Teradata V2R4.1.3.44

Any help or recommendations are welcome.

Many thanks
