Subj:   UNIX Maintenance

From:   Hassinger, Bill

I am sorry for being vague with this email, but I am trying to find information on a topic I remember from four years ago.

During the Y2K scare there was discussion that although UNIX did not have the 1999 - 2000 problem there is an internal clock that maintains time in seconds. At the time it was noted that the register maintaining this clock was going to "roll over" in the future and cause a catastrophic internal error.

Since we are looking at replacing hardware at a significant cost, can someone tell me:

When is this anomaly suppose to occur?

Is this still an issue within UNIX and MP-RAS?

Thank You
