Subj:   Re: Limit to the number of FastExports at any given time.

From:   Frank C. Martinez IV

1) First, talk to your NCR support dude.

2) Go to Teradata Mangler and select >>Production Control>>Remote Console.

3) In the Remote Console Window, select >>Utilities>>DBS Control. Have you talked to the NCR person yet?

4) Be very careful here. You could mess up a whole lot of things.

5) Type "Display General". Look at #11, the MaxLoadTasks. It should have a 5 after it, meaning that you can only have five concurrent Multi/Fast type thingys running. You've talked to your NCR contact, and discussed it with him/her, right?

6) Ready?

7) Type "Modify".

8) Type "General"

9) Type "11" (the MaxLoadTasks setting).

10) Enter the number of concurrent load processes you've determined that you could run, after talking to the NCR... you know the rest. We use 15, which is the new limit (5 used to be it).

11) If you're very sure you haven't messed anything up, type "Write".

12) Type "quit" to exit DBS Control

13) Close the Remote Console window.

14) Monitor your system as you run multiple load jobs.

15) Better yet, do this all on your test box first. Then do #1.
