Subj:   ISO DATE question

From:   McKenna, Gerry

Posted for John Gresham..

I'm trying to return an ISO date from a Teradata date, without using a lookup table (like Sys_Calendar). The ISO date format is YYYYWW where...

YYYY = year
WW = week of the year

If the date were Jan. 11, 2003, then the ISO_DATE would be 200302. (see lookup below) Is there someway I could format the TD date to ISO date without using a lookup table or where clause?

(sample as to how the ISO date would be used)

 Select Ship_To_Date
 From...
 Where
 Mystery_Func_Here (Current_Date) = > '200302'

(sample TD dates and corresponding ISO dates)

 TD Date ISO Date
 12/30/2002 200301
 12/31/2002 200301
 1/1/2003 200301
 1/2/2003 200301
 1/3/2003 200301
 1/4/2003 200301
 1/5/2003 200301

 1/6/2003 200302
 1/7/2003 200302
 1/8/2003 200302
 1/9/2003 200302
 1/10/2003 200302
 1/11/2003 200302
 1/12/2003 200302

 1/13/2003 200303
 . . .

Regards
