Subj:   Re: Alternatives to Teradata load utils

From:   Wight, John K

I can't believe this sting has gone on 1) - at all and - 2) for this long. Wonders never cease! Good luck to the 'pearl master'.

I saw this in one TD customer site (they used Java instead) and when it was all done and 'tested' they calculated that to load all their history data - they didn't have enough time/cycles. It was re-written using standard TD utilities and approaches and all history was loaded in a matter of hours. For a daily feed of about 3-4 hours (with their Java 'utility') - it was down to minutes! What's the cost when you can't load the data? Go figure!!!

Again, just my $0.02 for what is worth on today's market;-)
