How much will it cost when your data is incorrect because there was a bug in your custom code

Just as much as it does for an NCR bug!

A question you didn't ask: 'How long will it take to get the bug fixed?'

Answer: Probably faster to fix custom code than waiting on a patch.

Another question you didn't ask: 'How long will it take to add a new feature to a custom load utility?'

Answer: It's custom code and we would be able to do those things that make sense for our environment as soon as we can assign our resources. That's a lot better than the years it seems to take now.

Why don't we do it?

- There is no documentation or CLI for the interface used by Fastload, Multiload or Archive. If we had access to that interface, then we would certainly consider writing our own.

- The current load utilities are good enough. We only feed the Teradata from one system and so cost is much less a factor for us than those who are feeding from multiple systems.
