Subj:   AMP Scan?

From:   Charlie Briney

An NCR employee has told one of our consultants that the more tables there are on the disks owned by an AMP, the longer scans could take. The configuration at their site is using a MPP architecture.

Their statement seems to be implying that there are conditions where all the data owned by an AMP in a MPP architecture can be scanned by a single query.

How could scans take longer just because their is another table coexisting on the same disks an AMP owns, even if the additional table is not used? Is this even possible?
