I've supported both EMC and LSI systems. I can tell you from personal experience that that EMC is NOT any more reliable than LSI and generally will cost more. When we had FATAL vprocs because a hardware failure on the EMC array, EMC tried to shift the blame on Teradata saying the long outage was due to having to run Scandisk and Checktable.

EMC will not disclose the nature of failure and are very secretive about root cause of failures. They are not a good vendor to work with.
