I am looking for insight on which programming languages are best for developing GUI applications to hook into Teradata. In addition if you have some concrete examples of how the Teradata connection is made within these languages, that would be of great value.

What we are looking at doing is creating an application which will allow us to manage some proprietary Metadata which is used by a reporting tool. (NO, MDS is not an option)

Code examples will be very helpful - even if it's a simple test of 'select * from sourcetable', and populating that into a GUI output. At least it's a start.
