Fastexport supports only the following four export data formats:

BINARY
TEXT
FASTLOAD
UNFORMAT

If you want to export to a vartext format, then you can give a try using bteq with the following commands.

.set SEPARATOR '|'
.export report file=f1.dat
sel * from table;
.export reset

This may not be exactly what you want but it may come close.
