Following a small abstract about the tool:

Teradata System Emulation Tool is a one of its kind Teradata client tool that allows to emulate/reproduce the environment of a customer machine on a test machine. The goal is to reproduce the customer environment on a test machine, which is required to make the optimizer generate execution plans identical to the ones generated on the customer machine. The Field engineers/Support team could then examine and resolve the problems with the SQL without having to meddle with the Customer or Production machine. This wonder tool was successful in faking the environment of huge machine on a laptop, which made it possible to generate identical plans. This tool helps in performing what- if analysis.
