Subj:   Expected lifespan of MPRAS?

Just curious as to the anticipated lifespan of MPRAS at various sites, and when/if they intend to replace it, and if so, with what.

While MPRAS has done an admirable job of supporting the Teradata DBMS, it does appear to be an orphan in many other respects (e.g., No Java JVM, Perl upgrades (and most other public domain s/w) must be "hand-rolled", 3rd party apps are rare and expensive, lack of true SMP kernel threading support, etc.).

So will MPRAS go away suddenly and soon, or will it hang around for several more years?
