Srini,

You'll probably receive a whole host of varying responses here, purely because different system limitations lead to different installations running on different parameters. However, to my knowledge, historically this has always been a 1-to-1 relationship to the number of AMPs in your system, e.g. set SESSIONS = 40 for a 40AMP config. There is undoubtedly a more scientific basis to this, and I'm sure that someone on the forum will be in a position to give you detail on this, and whether this still holds for V2R5, I really couldn't say.

In fact, V2R4 did include a bug whereby data was dropped from cluster archives (approx. 2.6% - 2.8%), when the SESSIONS parm was NOT set to equal the AMP configuration. This was fixed in DBS version V2R4.01.03.29, so if you're running cluster arcs on a version prior to this, then watch out for it.

Mark
