Actually, it does work in V2R4; but the 5407 error doesn't tell you much. The trick is that Teradata requires you to explicitly specify the precision of the resulting interval, e.g

SELECT TimeStamp2 - TimeStamp1 DAY(4) TO SECOND(6) ...
