Subj:   Resetting LAN session numbers

From:   Anomy Anom

Occasionally, I like to reset the session numbers that get assigned to sessions that logon to Teradata via the lan, so that they don't grow quite so large. I used to be able to do this by disabling logons, aborting sessions, verifying that the system was quiescent, and doing a database restart. As long as no lan sessions were logged on, this would work and session numbers would be small again. But it's not working for me anymore. Of course, mainframe session numbers get reset when the TDP goes down & up, but what causes lan session numbers to get reset? Any ideas on what I should try next?

Thanks,

Anomy
