I've been working exclusively on Teradata for the last 8 years, and the best way I've found to give the new salesman a dose of reality is to simply ask them:
1. I'd like a list the products you sell.
2. I'd like to know the list prices for those products.
You'd think they'd be able to at least answer #1, but the only answer *I've* ever gotten is "We'll get back to you."
I keep thinking I should use the Freedom of Information act to get a copy of the GSA price list. That document has to exist for Teradata to sell to the US Government, and it has to the minimum price available by law.
