Hi Frank,

I have a question on the Informatica usage for data loading. What is the volume of data loaded by Informatica from Source systems in one load and in what time?

We have AS/400 system from where the transaction data is passed on to the Warehouse. Since transferring data from AS400 to Oracle over ODBC is very slow, we create flat file extracts on AS400 system and ftp over to Unix for loading into Oracle by SQL*LOADER.

We also did some tests using Informatica to load data from AS400 tables to Oracle and proved to be more than 10 times slower compared to the ftp/sqlloader process.

How do you load your data from Legacy systems to Teradata through Informatica?

Another question is that where is Informatica server installed? Can we install Informatica on MP-RAS or does it require a Sun-Solaris Unix?

Thanks.
