I think the problem is the usage of INSERT SELECT. You could use just the simple INSERT clause but not the INSERT SELECT . SELECT is one of the restricted clauses that cannot be used in a DynamicSQL statement. ie. the reason for :

5568 SQL statement is not supported within a stored procedure.
