We are inserting about 400,000 rows into an empty table with fallback option and that takes about 8 seconds. The second insert of another 400,000 rows used to take about 25 seconds. Recently this second insert is taking about 5.5 minutes. After more research we noticed that the performance degradation is happening on all tables that were setup with fallback.
We noticed the performance problems over the period of two weeks. During that period we didn't install/updated any software on the system, our DBA didn't do any performance tuning, there were no hardware changes. The only change was that the size of our database increased by about 30%; at this point we are still using less that 10% of the overall system capacity.
Where should we look to resolve this issue?
Thanks in advance,
