You cannot use import (import a file) in a fastexport. If you need to import a file and use it for the "where clause" for exporting data from a table, then you have to use Bteq. When exporting you do not need to specify "Format" on the fields, since it would export the fields in the native format. For e.g. if you export files to the mainframe, the Decimal fields will be exported as comp-3 fields, the integer, smallint and tinyint as comp fields .etc. The format Dara is referring to, is the format of the output file.
