We have some users who have a user id that they can logon using various tools such as Queryman. We also have userids that are controlled by the tool. In our case, Microstrategy. We append _MSI to the userid to show which user ids are accessing via the MSI tool. Depending on your tool, you may not like this approach (ie each user would not want to logon using an id that looks like NAME_MSI) but Microstrategy has a connection mapping option that allows us to map the NT userid that is used to logon to a Teradata userid. The user never knows about this 'hidden' userid.
I don't know Business objects but perhaps you could have a front end logon page that appends _BO to the logon string. ie you would validate the NAME userid, then pass it to Business Objects as NAME_BO.
