Subj:   OLE -DB for UNIX?

From:   Mohommod Khan

I am wondering if NCR is developing any data migrating tool like the OLE DB that can run on UNIX.

As far as I know, OLE DB works only on Windows platform. Using the same technique that is ODBC as a communicator can any tool be developed or is there a third party tool that can do the same job?

It looks like NCR does support named pipe on the UNIX (MP-RAS) and they already developed the access module which is similar to the amj dll file for OLE....

I am sure this access module can be used to export/import bulk data to /from Teradata. What I would be interested to know if this can be used to import data from other database mainly ORACLE.

I would appreciate any info or suggestion in this regard. Thanking in advance.
