I have often wondered about this type of approach from time to time but in my experience the additional hassles of managing the various necessary views, etc. tended to outweigh only minimal observed query performance improvements, if any. That said, this type of approach would seem to make logical sense at some levels so maybe I have yet to come across the right set of circumstances which would allow this approach to shine. It will be interesting to see if this sparks any debate.....Neil
