I would like to ask how to enforce Teradata, to have locking mechanism as Oracle ,for online transactional applications. i.e. an application A inserts/updates several columns while application B has access to the table and selects rows which are not committed yet.

1) Application B can select the older rows , as long as application A doesn't do a commit.

2) Application B will select the new rows once application A issues the commit.
