We are currently planning the addition of extra nodes which requires a s/w upgrade on the existing nodes. We can either do a 'small' step up to a point release or a 'bigger' step up to V2R4.1.1.

From DBC.DBCINFO we are currently running:

RELEASE V2R.04.00.01.24
VERSION 04.00.01.49

Going to V2R4.1.1 also requires a client s/w and ODBC upgrade but gives us extra Teradata Manager functionality. The business view it as riskier though.

We run CRM, SAS and Microstrategy in addition to the standard Fastload/Multiload/Fastexport/BTEQ batch processing. Netbackup is used for archive/recovery.

Anyone out there been through this any got any comments/thoughts they'd be happy to share?
