I do not know that I would agree with this blanket statement....I would say that a Teradata system generally will run well with less hands on attention on a day in, day out basis than a similar Oracle based environment. While this might mean you could in theory get by with fewer DBA's, that is probably only true if that is all your DBA's do. Usually it means your DBA's get to spend more time doing other equally important DBA tasks!.....Neil
