John: My client tried to load data with JDBC and the performance was abysmal. It was taking 6 hours to load a single days' transactions. That indicated a 6-week loading period for the several months of history he had collected. We had to re-develop his load process using TD utilities; then it ran a days' transactions in 10 minutes.

I strongly urge you to convince the client to use the power of the TD parallel load utilities. How about using architecturally compliant methods to reposit new transactions in a unix directory, and then load with TUF?
