Subj:   Archiving a table

From:   Audrey Dis

All,

I have to archive in an another database a table which totalize 22 Gb. 15Gb will be archived and deleted from the table. I don't have enought space in order to make a copy before manipulating (it will only be saved via ASF2). The criteria is based on a column which is neither primary index neither secondary index.

I would like to know if :

- is it better making this operation in one time or in several steps (for exemple, 5 Gb each time so that I could make a copy)?

- must I delete datas or create a new table then insert datas?

- does a reorg must be started after the delete statement or is it done automatically? Must I make something in the DBC tables?

- if there is a problem, how will work the fall back statement?

Thanks for help
