Subj:   Re: ODBC Compatibility - CLI connect with BI/Query

From:   Margus Kliimask

Hi,

Does BTEQWin work? It uses the same wincli interface to Teradata. If not, check out whether wincli32.dll is somewhere in the path (should be \winnt\system32 if it is an NT/2K system). Do you have hosts file properly configured (should have a line for each Teradata server)?

In case BTEQWin works create a new connection in BI/Query Admin. Select Host -> Connections. DBMS -> Teradata, Connection -> Cli, New. TDP: , User: , Account: < account string if you are using one >, Database: < your default database >. Save the connection and give it a name (connection description is kept in a separate file). Now you should be able to connect.

In case everything fails I would suggest contacting Hummingbird support (BTW it's a Canadian company).

Best regards,

Margus Kliimask
