Agreed,

If your "data fixes" affected a column you actually referenced in one or more of your collect stats requests or a primary key then those statistics (or perhaps all of them) are now invalid. The time you would spend to figure out how bad off you might be would likely well exceed the time it would take to re-collect the statistics and avoid the headache.....
