Subj:   Re: MS Access and ODBC - deleted rows

From:   Anonymous

Anyone have the following problem?

Using V2R3, MS Access 97 or 2000, ODBC .6 . Linked tables show all rows being deleted, pass through queries to same tables show the rows? Just started happening.

Thanks

John, this has to do Access and it's JET Engine, which cannot read correctly your primary keys of Teradata tables.

One way to get around this problem is to use SnapShot Mode for linked ODBC tables.

You have to modify your workstation's Registry with Regedit. Find following key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Jet\3.5\Engines\ODBCkey.

Under the ODBC Key, Change the value of the SnapshotOnly key to 01.

The whole story is in Microsoft support site, knowlegde base and search for How to Force Microsoft Access to Use "Snapshot" Mode for Linked Data or use following link:

www.support.microsoft.com...
