Yes, the NT system that you execute your ETL processes with OLE-DB is sensitive to the System (speed, memory, LAN speeds, traffic, etc.). Before anyone asks, I DO NOT have any official recommendations other than that, at our customer, the work with dedicated servers with a goodly amount of memory and dual processors. We schedule and run multiple (parallel) streams from one server, but (again) are limited with Network speeds and throughput. Compared to the SQL Server environment where they were using SQL Server 7 with DTS processes, we are 3-5 times faster, specially with larger data sets. Just an FYI - hope it helps.
